Privacy Policy

Effective date: 21 Aug 2025

Plain English summary: We collect only what we need to run a useful site, improve content quality, and deliver our newsletter if you opt in. We don’t sell your data. We keep analytics separate from any agency site and avoid dark patterns.

Who we are

DomainMasters.net is an independent content hub focused on domains, hosting, SEO and digital marketing for Australian businesses.

What we collect

  • Server logs: Standard web logs (IP, user agent, referrer, timestamp) for security and debugging. Logs auto-rotate and are retained for a limited period.
  • Newsletter data: Email address and subscription preferences when you opt in. Unsubscribe links are included in every email.
  • Contact form: Details you choose to submit so we can respond.
  • Usage analytics (optional): We may use a privacy-friendly analytics tool (e.g., Plausible or Matomo) with IP anonymisation and no cross-site tracking.

Cookies

We aim to minimise cookies. If analytics is enabled, it may set first-party, anonymous cookies. Newsletter providers may set necessary cookies only for subscription management. We don’t use third-party advertising trackers.

How we use your data

  • To operate and secure the website (legitimate interest).
  • To send the newsletter you requested (consent; you can withdraw anytime).
  • To understand aggregate content performance and improve quality (legitimate interest).

Data sharing

  • We don’t sell personal data.
  • Vetted processors may include hosting, email service providers, and privacy-first analytics. They process data solely to provide their service.
  • Separation from agency systems: We do not share analytics properties, tracking IDs, or Search Console access with domdigitalmarketing.com.au. Hosting is separated.

Data retention

  • Server logs: typically 30–90 days unless required longer for security investigations.
  • Newsletter: retained while you remain subscribed; removed upon unsubscribe, with backups purged on a scheduled basis.
  • Contact enquiries: retained only as long as needed to respond and for record-keeping.

International transfers

Some processors may store data outside Australia. We select reputable providers with robust security and data protection commitments.

Your rights

You can request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data, and you can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. To exercise rights, see “Contact” below.

Security

We follow industry best practices: TLS encryption (HTTPS), access controls, least-privilege access, and regular updates.

Third-party links

Our articles link to authoritative resources (e.g., ICANN, Moz, Ahrefs). Their privacy practices are separate and may differ; review their policies when visiting.

Children

This site is intended for adults and business users. We don’t knowingly collect data from children under 16.

Changes

We may update this policy. The “Effective date” will change when we publish updates.
